What can you DO with what you are learning?
Let's see if we can answer that question this year!
This year in all of our classes we are focusing on the three main modes of language learning:
Interpretive (which could be reading or listening/viewing)
Interpersonal (person to person spontaneous conversation)
Presentational (practiced, rehearsed & prepared writing or speech)
These will form the basis for our practice and assessments this year. All grades fall into one of two categories, formative or summative.

A little bit about me...
Education:
B.A. In French and Education, with a Minor in Spanish (licensed to teach both)
Six month abroad in college in Paris.
M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction
What you should know about me:
I learned to speak Spanish at the age of 10 when I went to Mexico and lived with the family of one of our exchange students. I stayed there for around 3 months and came back fluent!
I went back to Mexico when I was 12 for 4 months or so, and actually attended school for a month. I learned a lot more about Spanish.
I learned to speak French at the age of 12 when I went to visit a penpal who lived in the south of France. Also a 3 month stay, and I came back fluent in French!
Although I chose to study French only in high school, I never lost my love of Spanish. I have traveled frequently my whole life with my parents, who were both teachers. I have been to Peru, Costa Rica (lived there for a month), Mexico, Spain and France.
In college I picked up my Spanish once more, almost every semester I had Spanish and French classes back to back. I always tell my students that if they are interested, they should definitely take both. They very much support each other, and having done it for years I am speaking from experience when I say that.
Since I love both languages equally, it was easy to pick Spanish as the language I wanted to teach. (I can always hold French in reserve!)
Interests:
Travel, Reading, Spending time with my family and my dog, Camping, Languages, Walking/Hiking, Swimming, and many other things. But my main passions are Education, Languages and Teaching.
